My 200 Favorite Bay Area Restaurants is a cheeky response to San Francisco Chronicle’s fancy Top 100 Restaurants list and gala, which takes a lot of time and sponsorship to put together. I enjoy the Chronicle food section and have occasionally contributed to it — my favorite assignment was when I got to write about exotic chips and taste test Lay’s potato chips from around the world with the team.
